Yep. You probably thought I was running around with supermodels, and here I was, reading the I Ching. As you know, the first fiction was when Jonah came home after being absent for three days and told his wife he had been swallowed by a whale.

I've never read the I Ching and your descriptions were entertaining (losing and finding the O-ring reminds me so much Phil hunting for something). While I will likely never read the I Ching, I will read your experiences with it.

Thanks, Mary. I was trying to explain a method of accessing the I Ching to a friend and found it was not easy without the book open in front of us. Chronicling the history and some of the sages who worked on it is an easier task, so I think I'll stick with that.

I had an old paperback translation by Blofeld which was published in 1965, that I used to look at regularly. Years ago. It seemed so much more readable than the older translations that I'd seen before. I'm surprised at how much research you did to prepare for this blogpost. Nice work!

Thanks, Phil. I've been putting off writing about the I Ching because every time I asked the book itself if I was ready to write about it, it said no. Finally, a couple of weeks ago, it gave me permission after I had completed an online course.

I tried reading it many years ago. I wasn't ready.

Being retired and having a lot of time really helps. I took an online course, which also helped.
